Massive Boost As Green Returns To Light Training

7 December 2018

Crewe Alexandra have been handed a major boost ahead of Christmas with the news that Paul Green will be making a tentative step back into light training today.

Green is reported to be well ahead of schedule and is expected to be back well before February. Green suffered a cruicate knee injury against Carlisle United back in late August and his experience and influence has been sorely missed.

The former Republic of Ireland International has already been out running and has implemented twisting and turning into his regime – but he will participate in non-contact training in the morning session.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “I don’t know what Greenie eats but he is the miracle man. He is still some way off but he will be ahead of schedule. He must be made of rubber.

“It certainly won’t be February like we thought and that is great credit to him. He works his socks off. He will make his first tentative steps in training today. He will kick the ball again for the first time but there will be no contact.

He added: “Hopefully, we will have Paul back sooner rather than later and that will give us a massive boost because we have missed him and he is a great pro.”
