David Artell says the responsibility for scoring goals is on everyone to produce. Crewe Alexandra have scored just three goals away from home this season and Artell says that particular statistic has to change and quickly as we enter 2019, but he is simply not pointing the finger at the forward players at the club.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Forest Green, the boss said: “We have to start scoring more goals away from home. It has incredibly frustrating because apart from the Colchester game earlier in the season we have been in every game and goals change games.

“I just don’t mean the strikers either, I mean everyone. They can all chip in with more goals. The centre-halves haven’t scored, the midfielders have a few and the wingers can score more.

“Everyone chipping in with goals is key because it would take some of the pressure off the forwards. The forwards know they haven’t been prolific enough but it is a team game and we are in this together. “
