Callum Has Become More Effective

7 December 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that talented youngster, Callum Ainley, is beginning to become more effective in his role.

Ainley, has hit real form of late, netting two goals in a 3-2 win over Tranmere Rovers and opening the scoring against Cambridge United.

Artell told crewealex.net: “All the players have to be effective in some way. They either have to assist, stop goals or be scoring them to be effective.

“They have to do their jobs and the other side of the game, the tracking back, the covering, heading balls out of box, interceptions and blocks and getting the second balls and all that - but they have to be effective and not just pretty all the time.

“Callum has become really effective in the last few games, but we knew it was only a matter of time before he was again. Now he knows, like the rest of them, that he has to do it on a regular basis.”
