Artell Set For 100th Game In Charge

4 December 2018

David Artell is set to take charge of his 100th game as Crewe Manager when the Alex face Oldham Athletic at Gresty Road on Saturday.

The contest will also mark his 100th in his career, having accepting his first managerial position at the Alex in January 2017.

During the first 99 games of his reign, the Alex have won 34, drawn 14 & lost 51 with the Club moving through a tranistional period under his stewardship.

On his upcoming 100th game, Dave said: "I didn't know I'd done that many, but it's not about me, it's about the players.

"It was a bit of a baptism of fire first up, when I took over two Januarys ago - now that was a whirlwind. I'll never forget the 260 phone calls on that January deadline day going down to watch Exeter. That was a day and a half!

"It's been good & I think we are improving & the football club is improving as a whole. I now think we're ready to kick-on, whereas I didn't think that last season.

"Last season the first three months was fighting fires & about building but I think this year we've laid the foundations to go ahead & be successful. Now we've got to go & do it."
