Artell: "About Time We Addressed Our Away Results"

12 December 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell admits that it is about time we addressed our away form and start picking up points on our travels. Crewe have won just once on the road this season away at Stevenage and although we have put on some productive performances, we haven’t been able to replicate our home form when we travel away in League Two.

Crewe have arguably been unlucky not to have won at least another two or three away games - but Artell says there is no point continuously talking about ifs, maybes and should haves.

The Railwaymen travel to Exeter City this weekend, hoping to bounce back in style following a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Oldham on Saturday.

Artell told crewealex.net: “If we had been as consistent away from home as we have been at home then we would have been right up there. Things would be looking a lot healthier but we haven’t managed to get over the line in certain games and it has been frustrating.

“We have not been consistent enough on the road and if it was just one thing we would address it. We have to be mentality resilient and really believe that we can go to a opponents ground and perform like we have in most of our home games.

“It cannot be all should have and could have, we have got to go and do it more often. It is about time that our away form became something like it should be. “
