David Artell admits that it was at least another point dropped at Forest Green Rovers at the weekend but he says that his team have the perfect opportunity to bounce back when we entertain the league leaders on Boxing Day.
Crewe suffered another 1-0 defeat on the road to leave us in 18th place and Artell was once again left frustrated by our missed chances, especially in the second half.
The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “I spoke to Mark (Cooper) after the game and he was very open and honest. He said we deserved at least at point from the game and I agreed with him. Again the performance didn’t reflect the result.
“They changed their shape after half an hour because we were doing well against it and then we tinkered a bit when they did. There was nothing in it and then we go behind to a deflected goal and we are chasing the game again.
“We dominated much of the second half but not for the first time we couldn’t score. It has happened far too much and putting the ball in the back of the net is the name of the game. Missing good chances is not accepted and we have to stick them in.
“We are creating them. We have created good ones in most of our games so we are not a million miles away but it is those fine margins that are costing us.
He added: "Having the league leaders come to our ground is the perfect opportunity to show that we can compete with the top teams in this league.”
