Pickering Suffers Injury Blow

22 August 2018

Crewe Alexandra could have suffered a double disappointment from last night’s 6-0 defeat at Colchester United with the news that Harry Pickering has suffered a hamstring injury.

Pickering, who moved into a midfield position in last night's defeat, was forced off in the second half after aggravating the muscle and he had to be replaced by Brad Walker.

The Alex will have to assess the severity of the injury but it is unlikely he will be fit to face Carlisle United at the weekend. It will be a blow for the Railwaymen who are short in that one position on the left.

Academy graduate Pickering, 19, has been one of the club’s most consistent performers this season. He has been utilised as a left-back following the summer departure of Zoumana Bakayogo.
