Nolan: "Macclesfield Will Be After A Major Scalp"

30 August 2018

Eddie Nolan has told iFollow the Alex that it is important that we get back to winning ways against our Cheshire neighbours Macclesfield Town this weekend. The defender has admitted that the Crewe dressing room has been left frustrated and disappointed by the start we have made to the new season.

Crewe Alexandra have remained unbeaten at home, but have lost three successive away games, including a heavy 6-0 defeat to Colchester United.

Nolan says he and his team-mates will be looking to extend our unbeaten home record against the Silkmen on Saturday and push up the League Two table.

“Other than the opening game of the season, we have been disappointed with the start we have made to the season, ‘says Eddie.

“We know we should be doing a lot better and we have to put things right again against Macclesfield on Saturday. We have shown what we can do against Morecambe, MK Dons and against Fleetwood at home and we want our home form to continue. It will key to us this season.

“We need the three points and hopefully we can kick on from there.

“It will another tough game against Macclesfield. It is a derby and they have been promoted and will be looking to take a scalp. They are one of our local rivals but we are home and we want to make Gresty Road a bit of a fortress.

“If we can start the game well, like we did against Morecambe then we are more than capable of getting a positive result. “
