Kenny Lunt has revealed that the loan signing of Kevin O’Connor from Preston North End may not necessarily be the end of our transfer dealings today.

The club’s assistant manager has not totally ruled out some business occurring before the 5pm deadline. With Brad Walker moving to Wrexham on loan, Crewe have created a space in the first-team squad and manager David Artell and his staff will be working up to deadline to see if anything occurs.

Kenny told crewealex.net: “We are still working on one or two things and we will work right up to the last minute to see if there is anything out there.

“If the right player came up for the right position then it is something we would try and do today. I am sure the gaffer would like to add another one to strengthen the squad and potentially strengthen the starting XI.

“Signing Kevin on loan is not necessary the end for us.”
