Message to supporters from Chairman John Bowler
I would like to apologise to supporters who missed the first part of today’s match with Morecambe at the Alexandra Stadium due to lengthy queues at the ticket office.
Along with the rollout of our new ticketing system, there were a number of other contributing factors and we will be conducting a full review.
It should be noted that the number of ‘walk-up’ supporters looking to buy tickets on the day was around 150% more than on a ‘normal’ match day and we will look to determine how much of a factor that played on the queue time.
We understand that it was a frustrating time for some supporters who were affected, in what was otherwise a fantastic day on the pitch with Dave and the team recording a thoroughly deserved 6-0 victory.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise again, but also to remind supporters that we encourage the purchase of tickets in advance of match day wherever possible.
The online booking system does not incur any added fees or delivery charges. Calling the Club Shop or buying in-store during the week are also quick and easy ways to ensure seemless entry in the stadium on match day.
Despite the problems encountered, we hope you all had an otherwise enjoyable afternoon and will continue to enjoy the result and performance throughout the weekend and the week ahead.
