Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager Kenny Lunt says that after falling down the pecking order, the club were open to Brad Walker going out on loan.
Walker has joined National League side Wrexham on loan until January after only making one substitute appearance for Crewe this season.
The 22-year-old has played both at centre-half and in central midfield for Crewe since signing from Hartlepool United last summer. He has scored two goals from his 34 appearances for the Railwaymen.
Lunt told the club’s official website: “Brad hasn’t deserved an opportunity with his performances and he has fallen down the pecking order, so it was important for him to go out and get some games.
“We have let him go out on loan for Brad’s benefit and for our benefit because he has fallen behind some of our other players.
“He still has a future here. He is still young and we will go out to watch him at Wrexham, to see how he does.
“He has worked hard as anyone in training but he knows he has to improve aspects of his game and do better here. He has been told that and we will see how he does.”
