Crewe Boss Dave Artell couldn’t believe his side left Brunton Park empty handed after largely impressive performance.
Carlisle United’s Ashley Nadesan netted in the second half, and Crewe couldn’t force the equaliser that their play deserved as the Cumbrians ran out 1-0 winners.
Post-Match, Dave Artell said: “I think if we’d have stood here & we’d have won 4-1 then it wouldn’t have flattered us.
“As much as we can say we’ve played well, the scoreline suggests we haven’t. I know if we play like that every week we’re not going to be on the end of 1-0’s.
“We need to take a lot more care in the final third & we’ve conceded a Sunday league goal, there’s no getting round that.
“We should’ve been 2-0 up at half-time, we’ve had plenty of chances throughout & we’ve dominated a good game.
“We’re stood here with no points which is really, really frustrating.
“Their lad has got a broken leg, & Paul Green is booked for doing some serious damage to his own leg. It was a coming together & both lads have come out on the wrong end of it. We’ll send Greeny in for all the necessary tests & whatnot over the next few days, but it doesn’t look good.
“It all adds up to a really frustrating afternoon for us.”
