Artell: "Unbeaten Home Record Has To Continue"

30 August 2018

Artell hopes that our extended unbeaten record at home continues in the Cheshire derby this weekend.

David Artell has called on the Crewe Alexandra supporters to be ‘brilliant’ once again as we aim to get back to winning ways against our Cheshire neighbours Macclesfield Town this weekend. The Railwaymen have suffered three successive away defeats to leave us in 18th place in the table but Artell is looking for his side to bounce back from Saturday’s narrow 1-0 reverse at Carlisle United.

The Alex boss has been full of praise for the club’s fans who have to endure long trips to Newport, Colchester and Carlisle of late.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “The fans have been brilliant. They have seen us score six and concede six but they still come in their numbers to support us.

“Those who travelled to Carlisle last weekend after seeing us concede six at Colchester deserve a massive pat on the back. We need them and hopefully we can repay them at 3pm on Saturday.

“We have been decent at home and haven’t lost if you don’t count the penalties against Fleetwood. We need to build on that and make sure we get the job done against Macclesfield.”
