Artell 'Relishing MK Dons Encounter"

17 August 2018

David Artell has told crewealex.net that facing the promotion favourites MK Dons at the Alexandra Stadium this weekend is a fixture to relish. The Alex will be hoping to build on our opening day success, which saw us run riot against Morecambe and keep our unbeaten home record going.

Crewe actually last lost a home game way back on 17th March to Coventry City, a run that has now extended to five games.

MK Dons are currently third in the League Two table after winning both of their opening matches.

Ahead of the encounter at Gresty Road, Artell told us: “The MK Dons have started the season well under Paul (Tisdale) and we know they are the favourites to win the league.

“Paul wouldn’t have left Exeter for them if they were content to finish in the play-offs. If he was, he would have stayed with Exeter because they have been there or thereabouts over much of his time there.

“It should be a very good game because Paul likes his teams to play and although it will be tough, it is the ones we should relish the most. It will be a good challenge for us.

“It will be a good test and both teams will be looking for the three points. If we could win both of our opening home games then that would give everyone a right boost.

David added: "It is one game at a time and next up is MK Dons. They have spent a bit, like Mansfield did last season and we took four points off them, so it is up to us to play to our potential.”
