With Crewe Alexandra losing both Paul Green and Harry Pickering through injury, David Artell has not ruled out being active in the loan market.

The Alex boss has until the end of the month to sign players on loan and he will be working to bring in possible reinforcements before the ultimate deadline.

Artell told crewealex.net: “It is something we have thought about before the injuries and something we have been working hard on.

“We are trying and we are looking at one or two key areas.

“You can say you are close but you will still be a million miles away. You can never be sure until it is finalised. They can be in the building and you can still not be sure that it will be completed.

“There is nothing imminent but we are working hard.”
