David Artell will resume talks with Perry Ng’s agent this week about getting his new contract over the line. The Alex boss has spoken to his representative twice last week and he believes that all parties are approaching an agreement.
Ng still has a year left on his contract and Artell is hoping to tie up the Liverpool-born defender on a new deal.
The Alex boss updated us today, saying: “I have spoken to Perry’s agent twice recently and I will follow it up again this week. The transfer window is still open and he has been away in Switzerland, so I appreciate that it is a busy time for him.
“He is a good guy and I get on well with him. I would say that we are much closer and hopefully we can get something done and dusted soon.
The boss added: “It is also important that we concentrate on the football. The games are coming thick and fast and we have to concentrate on that but the Perry situation is one I would resolved as soon as possible.”
