David Artell expects the right response from his players as they prepare for another tough away game at Carlisle United this weekend. The Alex will be aiming to bounce back from Tuesday’s humiliating 6-0 loss to Colchester United and the perfect response will be collecting something from a trip to Brunton Park.
The Alex boss was livid after suffering his worst defeat as a manager and he has already hinted about making possible changes ahead of this Saturday’s fixture.
Artell told the club’s official website: “I don’t think anyone saw that coming (on Tuesday) but the thing that disappointed me most was that some of them gave up. Some of them did. Some of them will be honest with themselves and some of them will believe it wasn’t them.
“If any of them felt they were any better than a three out of ten then they would be lucky. It was completely unacceptable and it is now about how they react.
“When you don’t run around, show some heart and fight for the battle then you get a performance like that. We didn’t make it hard for Colchester, who are a decent side and that is what hurt the most.”
