David Artell is predicting a bright future for young midfielder Ryan Wintle and says that the former Alsager Town man will only benefit from learning from playing alongside someone as experienced as Paul Green.
The 20-year-old Wintle recently returned to action following injury, scoring in the local derby against Port Vale and performing superbly well in the 4-3 win at Mansfield Town at the weekend.
Artell told crewealex.net: “Ryan could have a really bright future in the game. He scores goals, creates goals and stops goals and that is what you want from your central midfield player.
“He is a Rolls Royce of a physical specimen and you wouldn’t have thought that he has missed five months of the season by the way he has played recently. He is an athlete and can get from box-to-box.
“He is a good player but it doesn’t have help playing alongside someone like Paul Green. His experience helps the younger ones. It is no coincidence that Harry Pickering looked a really good player when he played there with Paul Green as well.
“In fact, Ryan reminds me of a younger version of Paul Green and that is a credit to him.”
