"We Would All Love To Keep Paul Green With Us"

17 April 2018

Assistant manager Kenny Lunt has revealed that that the club have opened positive discussions with experienced midfielder Paul Green in regards to his future. The former Eire International has played a major part in seeing Crewe Alexandra safe in the EFL after joining us on loan from Oldham Athletic.

Green has quickly settled at Crewe and he has certainly become a firm favourite with the fans and his teammates. His leadership qualities and experience has shone through and Lunt says that the club will do everything in their power to try and convince Green to make a permanent switch to Gresty Road this summer.

Kenny told crewealex.net: “Paul has been fantastic for us and he has shown that he is a leader both on and off the pitch. He is great with the younger lads and brings that experience.

“We would love to keep him because we think we need someone like a Paul Green. We knows the game and influences those around him.

Kenny added: “We will look to keep him and will do what we can to keep hold of him. All we can do is see what happens. We have spoken to him and made him an offer. It is all positive at the moment but we have to consider one or two things, mainly on our side, but we are hopeful something can be agreed.”
