U23 Report: QPR 3-1 Crewe

23 April 2018

Crewe Alexandra Under 23's ended the 2017/18 season with a 3-1 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

The hosts dominated proceedings from start to finish at Loftus Road with Odysseus Alfa and Aramide Oteh (2) doing the damage.

Regan Griffiths headed home a late consolation for Alex Morris' side, but it wasn't enough to avoid defeat on the final day.

The confident hosts took the lead on 41 minutes, Alfa wrigging free just inside the box before firing his shot low into the bottom corner.

QPR kicked it up a gear in the second period too, and doubled the lead from the penalty spot on 76 minutes. Oteh being fouled before picking himself up to find the bottom corner.

They wrapped the game up six minutes from time when striker Oteh was played in down the left of the box before wrapping his sot into the far corner, leaving Dave Richards with no chance.

Richards himself had a very good game, making several saves to frustrate the hosts earlier on.

Crewe did grab a consolation goal with two minutes remaining on the clock, substitute Aaron Lomas' left-wing cross being headed into the net by Griffiths to ensure the Alex at least ended the campaign with a goal.

Crewe: Richards, T.Johnson, Offord, Lundstram, Adebisi, Heath (Sass-Davies), Lowery, Griffiths, Storer (Lomas), Reilly, Udoh
