Boss Praise For Raynes Professionalism

11 April 2018

David Artell has praised the professionalism of Michael Raynes after he recently lost his place in his starting line-up. The central defender is currently behind George Ray and Eddie Nolan in the pecking order, but he has been called upon against Newport County and Mansfield in recent weeks to see us over the line.

Raynes’ experience has certainly helped us acquire two superb away wins and Artell has been delighted with his contribution.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “Michael has been a top professional. He has been really good around the place. There has been no moaning, no whining. He has just got on with it and has been out there doing extra after training as well.

“His attitude has been spot on and I don’t forget how good he was for us in the first half of the season. When the chips were down and we were struggling for results, he was out there for us and that goes a long way with me.

“He is a top professional and we have needed him in recent games. He has come off the bench and been excellent. He has got his head on things and help defend our box. He has helped us get over the line and been a real leader out there.”
