Porter: "Morecambe Is Always A Tough Game"

20 April 2018

Crewe Alexandra striker Chris Porter says it is always a tough game against Jim Bentley’s Morecambe side. The experienced Porter has recently returned from an ankle injury and is trying to force his way into David Artell’s line-up for the remaining three games of the season.

Porter, who has hit 12 goals in his debut season for Crewe only has admiration for the job Jim Bentley has once again achieved at Morecambe.

He told the club’s official website: “We want to end the season on a high and win the last three games if we can. I think that would give us a massive platform going into next season. Going out strong would really set us up.

“People will say that we haven’t got too much to play for but we are not looking at it like that. We want to end on a high.

“We know that we will have to earn every point in the last few games. Morecambe is always a tough game. They are always well organised and hard to beat.

“Jim Bentley has done a fantastic job there over many years and he has only had kind words to say about me in the past. I have great admiration and respect for him and the great job he has done. “
