Kenny Lunt says that one of the major things you learn as part of the management team is who you can rely on when things are not going so well. Lunt has been an able assistant to manager David Artell in their first full season together and they have guided the club to safety once again.
Of course, Lunt who played in the Championship for Crewe Alexandra is after more than that going forward, but he stresses that he is learning all the time in his senior role.
Lunt told the club’s official website: “I am learning every day about the role. When you are on a bad run, you know who is there for you and when you are on a positive run how the phone starts ringing again from people you have not heard from!
“That is football and you just have to get on with it. I think it is important to stay level headed. Never get carried away when things are going well and never too down when there are difficult times. I think I have learned to deal with that better because when we lose you don’t sleep and you think about things.
“I know how the fans feel when we lose and I know how they feel when we win, because the management team feel the same way they do. We want this club to be successful and I love it. I wouldn’t change it for anything and I am just pleased that I’ve been given the opportunity to do the job. “
