Lunt: "Jordan Would Have Deserved PFA Award"

17 April 2018

Kenny Lunt believes that the in-form Jordan Bowery would have been a worthy winner of the Fans vote for PFA player of the month for March.

The Crewe Alexandra striker was a joint second in the voting as the award went to Lincoln City’s Ollie Palmer.

Bowery’s goal at Luton on Saturday was his 13th of the season in all competitions and it now takes him one clear of Chris Porter as our leading scorer.

Lunt says that Bowery would have been a worthy recipient for his recent form.

“Jordan has been brilliant for us and he has been that ever since he came to the club on loan last season, ‘says Ken. “We could see what he could offer us and although Dagnall may have scored the majority of the goals they formed a good partnership and Jordan played a massive part in seeing us safe.

“We knew he was a good player and we are now seeing that he can take goals. He is in great form but even when he wasn’t scoring so many, he was still effective and a great team player. He is good off the pitch as well and he helps the others.

“He is unselfish and wants the team to succeed. I know I am probably bias but I didn’t think there would be anyone out there, who had done as well as him last month. They must have had some month.

“And it isn’t just about this goals either. His all round game has improved. His hold up play, his runs in behind and of course, his goals always help. He is playing with great confidence and he still has time on his side to go on again.”
