Goalkeeper Dave Richards has signed terms on an extended Crewe Alexandra contract that will keep him at Gresty Road until at least 2019, with a year option.

The 24-year-old joined the Alex in summer 2015 & has now earned his second fresh contract after continuing to impress Dave Artell & Goalkeeping Coach Fred Barber.

Richards joined Crewe having never made a senior appearance, and was also made to wait for his chance at the Alex before making his senior bow with a start at Coventry in League Two in September 2017.

The stopper has made 14 appearances so far in 2017/18 and will now be looking to build on that total heading into the new season.
