Boss jokes that he has used Greenie's watch as a bargaining tool when it comes to contract talks!

David Artell says that talks with experienced midfielder Paul Green have continued to be positive and he hopes that the popular Irishman will re-sign for us on a permanent basis this summer.

The boss has made no secret of the fact that he would like the former Doncaster, Preston and Leeds midfielder to sign for us after he becomes a free agent.

David updated us with encouraging news: “Greenie has been terrific for us and I have said that I would love to keep him. Hopefully, that will be the case.

“The talks have been positive and I know he has enjoyed his time here. There will be some I’s and T’s to cross I am sure, but we want him at this football club.

“He left his watch in the dressing room recently and I found it, so I told him, he could only have it back if he signed his contract! Now he is wearing his watch again?

Dave added: “He is a great lad and it has all been positive, so hopefully we will get that one done.”
