David Artell feels that his Crewe Aleaxandra side have shown that they can compete with the very best in EFL Two and that his team have nothing to fear when they travel to promotion hopefuls Luton Town this weekend.
The Alex’s superb 4-3 win at Mansfield Town on Saturday was our third win in five matches and the three points has seen us take another giant step to making sure we are safe in the EFL.
The Crewe boss is aiming for his side to give the Hatters a real challenge after narrowly losing to Wycombe, Exeter and Accrington Stanley recently.
David told the club’s official website: “I think we have shown in the last 10 games or so that we are a decent side. We have good players who can compete with the best in this league.
“They may not always be effective but they have been consistent over the last couple of months or so and that has greatly improved our league position.
“We are scoring goals at one end and being resolute when we have to be at the other end. If you can get that combination right then you have every chance of winning games.
“We should have got something out of the Wycombe game but conceded in injury time. We should have won against Exeter after scoring late on ourselves and we went to Accrington and played them off the park. We ended up losing those games and I know it is about results and all that, but they all showed that we can compete with the best. There wasn’t much in the games.
He added: “We have shown at Newport, Lincoln and now Mansfield that we can go away from home and get over the line in matches. “
