U18 Report & Goals: Crewe 6-0 Coventry City

14 September 2017

Crewe Alexandra Under 18's romped to an impressive 6-0 victory over Coventry City at Reaseheath in their most recent U18 Professional Development League Two match.

Luke Walsh & Joe Thompson were the stars of the show, netting a hat-trick & a brace respectively before an own goal capped off the scoring.

Walsh notched the first of the game when receiving a low pass from the right by-line, smashing his eight-yard shot first time into the top corner.

That man again made it 2-0, slamming home into an empty net from close range after Thompson's initial shot was spilled by the City keeper.

Crewe went into half-time three up when Thompson added his name to the score-sheet, diverting the loose ball into the net after the City defender failed to clear their lines.

He had his second of the game shortly after the break, when a cross was whipped in low from the right, and the striker got in front of his man at the front post to steer his shot home.

Walsh's made it 5-0 with his hat-trick goal from the penalty spot, rifling the ball high into the top-left corner after sending the keeper the wrong way following a foul in the box.

The Alex kept up the pressure and completed the scoring when Walsh's tasty cross from the right was slid into his own net by Coventry defender as Lee Bell's side had a day to remember.

Crewe: Appleyard, T.Johnson, Sass-Davies, Harrison, Adibisi, Griffiths, Offord (Odipe), Walsh, Hurst (Barlow), Thompson, Heath (C.Johnson)
