Nomination Is For Everyone

5 September 2017

David Artell says his nomination for manager of the month for August in League Two is down to the hard work his players have put in to make sure we made a solid start to the new season.

Crewe had won two, and drawn two before finally being beaten 1-0 at Grimsby Town on Saturday and the Alex boss has been nominated for the League Two award alongside Paul Tisdale (Exeter), Michael Flynn (Newport) and Darren Sarll (Stevenage).

David told the club’s official web-site: “I’ve always said that is not about me. It is about the players. I don’t play any more. My job is to try and help them win football matches and any accolades that come our own are a reflection on how they do.

“It is nice to be nominated because it means the club is doing well. It means we are getting results as a collective team, but the credit has to go to the players.

“It is for everyone because everyone is striving for the same thing. We are all in it together, so the nomination is for all of us.”
