Perry Ng is hopeful of returning to training this week to give himself the opportunity to be involved against Carlisle United this weekend. The right-back missed the club’s 3-0 defeat at Exeter City after rolling his ankle but he has been out running and kicking a football with head physio Rob Sharp.

Ng will train again today with the club’s medical staff under controlled conditions before he is considered for full-training tomorrow. The Liverpool-born defender will then be assessed before David Artell decides whether to recall him to his squad.
