Grant: "No Hiding Place"

26 September 2017

On-loan midfielder Conor Grant has told iFollow The Alex that the Crewe Alexandra dressing room is hurting deeply following Saturday’s heavy home defeat by Carlisle United. Crewe were beaten 5-0 by Keith Curle’s side and boss David Artell was honest to admit that he thought some of his players ‘gave up the ghost’ in the second half.

Grant, who made his home debut for the club on Saturday, says it is up to the players to put things right at Wycombe this evening. The on-loan Everton youngster said: “It is up to us as a team to put it right. Saturday was embarrassing to lose 5-0 at home and everyone was hurting. It was horrendous but we have a game really quickly and a chance to put it right.

“There is no hiding and we know we have got to be a lot better than we were on Saturday. It happened and the best way to get it out of the system is to get a good result at Wycombe.

“I feel that the more game time I get, the better I will become. I know that I can help this team and get us back on the road to success again.

“I played against Wycombe last season and they are a big, strong side. They will be after us after what happened to us at the weekend, but we have to be men and stand up to that. It is up to us to rise to the challenge and get a result.”
