Dale Hoping To Get More Chances

6 September 2017

The Warrington-born Owen Dale is the latest Academy graduate to make an impact at first-team level and now the 18-year-old forward is after more. Dale made quite an impression when introduced as a late substitute against Newcastle United’s Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy and he followed that up with another positive substitute performance against Grimsby Town to mark his league debut.

Dale scored the opening goal in the club’s Under-23 fixture over Bristol City on Monday afternoon and he is hoping he will get another chance to show what he can do against Chesterfield at the weekend.

Dale told the club’s official web-site “It was good to finally make my debut for the first-team because I’ve waited a long time for it to happen. I’ve been on the bench a number of times and to finally get a chance to show what I could do was really good for me.

“I know that the manager will give you chance if you train well or you are consistent with your performances in the Under-23s. I felt I had been playing well and scoring goals, so I was hopeful that a chance would come soon enough.

The teenager added: “I knew that if I got a chance to get on the pitch that it was up to me to show what I could do. I felt I’ve done that and now I want more of the same.”
