The club’s latest acquisition Conor Grant is hoping to get the chance to make his Crewe Alexandra debut at Grimsby Town this weekend. The on-loan Everton midfielder joined us on loan until early January and the 22-year-old appreciates that he has to impress boss David Artell to break into his in-form team.
Crewe have made an unbeaten start to the season with two wins and two draws and new signings Grant and defender Sam Stubbs have only increased the competition for places.
Grant told the club’s official web-site: “We have made a good start to the season and we want that to continue. I’ve joined a confident team and we are all looking to build on the good start we have made.
“There is a good mix of youth and experience here and everyone has been very welcoming. I want to play as many games as I can and score and create goals. I know that the style of play will suit me as a ball playing midfield player but I know I have to work hard to get in the team.
“I believe in my ability and I am ready to take my chance and break into the team.
Conor, who won promotion with Doncaster Rovers last season added: “I am not sure about how well Grimsby have started and it is still very early, but I do know that I can see there is a lot of quality in this squad and the spirit is really good.”
