David Artell believes that Keith Curle’s Carlisle United side can mix it with the best in this league. The Cumbrians have made an indifferent start to the new season and will be looking for an away win at Gresty Road this weekend to really kick start their campaign.

Artell has watched the Cumbrians and acknowledges that they can play both ways if needs be.

Ahead of our weekend clash, Artell said: “Carlisle are a good side and I think they are in a false position in the league. They can play both ways. They can mix it with the best of them.

“They also have some very good footballers. Jones is a good footballer, Adams is a good footballer and they have Miller and Hope up there who can be dangerous. They have a bit of everything and we have prepared for that.

“There will be periods in the game where they will have spells of possession, so we will have to cope with that, but as I’ve said the clubs are all very similar in this league and if you are below par then it becomes a difficult afternoon.

“It is those teams that can find that real consistency that win promotion and there are a lot of teams in that bracket. “
