Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that places are very much up for grabs as he searches once again for a winning formula.
The Crewe Alexandra boss says that players will get their opportunities if they perform in training and for the club’s Under-23 side.
Artell is looking to reverse a run of three games without a win with a positive result at Adams Park tomorrow evening.
The Crewe boss said: “The players are all playing for their places. I need those who are out of the side to push themselves forward and be knocking on my door to be selected. It is open for everyone. If they do the business, I have always looked to give them a chance.
“There are not that many of them at the moment who can be sure of their place and if they are out of the team then they have to grab their chance. They have to earn that chance by becoming consistent and it doesn’t matter to me who they are or how they are.
The boss added: “The players are self-employed. They have to shape their own careers. That applies to all of them. They only get one chance at a career and it is up to them to make the most of it.”
