Artell: "No Time To Sulk"

29 September 2017

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side have to repeat the level of performance shown on Tuesday evening at Coventry City this weekend.

Crewe lost 3-2 in the harshest of fashions at Adams Park after leading 2-1 going into the final minutes of play, only for the home side to score twice in the dying minutes.

Ahead of our trip to the Ricoh Arena, Artell told us: “We deserved something from the game on Tuesday. We deserved a point at the very least because I thought we played well enough to have got something.

“We have to perform as well that again. We have to play to the best of our ability every day, every game because if we do then we are more than good enough.

“The players stood up to Wycombe and matched them. They hit two sweetly struck shots in the last few minutes and when you are down, you do get one or two boots to go with it. The right-back hasn’t scored one for two years and Tyson has hit one that has flown into the top bin.

“The goals were preventable when you look at our positioning and one or two switching off. Maybe it is a little bit of inexperience but we will learn from it.

He added: “We have to take the medicine and not sulk about it.”
