Artell: "A Chance To Get Back On Track"

29 September 2017

David Artell wants his side to embrace the challenge of trying to halt Coventry City’s progress into the top three. The Crewe Alexandra boss appreciates that his Crewe side will be judged as rank outsiders to get a result at the Ricoh Arena this weekend, but he says there is no reason why we cannot upset the odds if we play to our potential.

Artell is looking forward to meeting up with his former Rotherham United teammate Mark Robins, who is in charge of the Sky Blues.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “Coventry City are a very good side. They have got used to the Stadium and all that has come with that. They are going in the right direction again under Mark.

“We spent five years together at Rotherham and I know how he likes his football to be played. I’m sure he knows all about me as well, so it evens out in that respect.

“It will be another tough game, but they are all tough. There are no bad sides but I would also say that there are no stand-out sides either. I haven’t seen one yet that I think it is capable of running away with it. It is much of a muchness and it comes down to how you perform on the day.

“Coventry have good players. Jones is an excellent footballer and he has a good squad to choice from. It will be about how we do. How we defend, how we create space and create chances and then it is about can we take them?

“We have to embrace the challenge and use it as an opportunity to get back on track.”
