Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ryan Wintle will visit a specialist on Monday as he continues to make progress from his fractured tibia.
Wintle suffered the injury in the disappointing defeat to Carlisle United back in September.
Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell told us: “Ryan is coming along nicely and he is visiting a specialist on Monday, so we are hoping for good news on that.
“He is improving and pushing himself. He is chomping at the bit and wants to get back as soon as he can. We are hoping that Mother Nature will be kind to him.
“We don’t think it is as bad as it was last time so he is visiting the specialist a bit earlier than before, so that is positive news.”
