Encouraging News On Injury Front

31 October 2017

Crewe Alexandra have had some encouraging news on the injury front in regards to defender George Ray and midfielder Ryan Wintle.

Ray has been given the green light to resume light training again after suffering a fracture in his back over the Easter period. Ray has not featured since then and the club will have to continue to be overly cautious with the centre-half.

The former Wales Under-21 International has been allowed to conduct simple exercises but after missing a considerable amount of football, he will not return to full training for at least a number of weeks.

Wintle fractured his tibia in the home defeat by Carlisle United but he has been told that he can remove the supportive boot in the next couple of weeks. After that he will start to rebuild his lost fitness but could be back in competitive action within six weeks if all goes according to plan.

Fellow midfielder James Jones has undergone another inflammatory injection to ease the discomfort around his pelvic area and it is thought he won’t be available for at least another six weeks.
