David Artell says it’s important for his side to get back to the core values of hard work and resilience if we are going to back to winning ways. The Alex boss says that having that work ethic, determination and the right mindset attitude will help us turn our recent run of poor form around.

Crewe Alexandra will be aiming to avoid a sixth straight league defeat against Stevenage this weekend.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “We have to continue to work hard and make sure that the players know all about the eventualities that can happen. We will prepare them right and they know the strengths and weaknesses of Stevenage.

“The players are focussed and ready. Those core values are important. They are words like hard work, resilience, grit, being dogged…all those things but they have to show it out on the pitch.

“If you work hard in football and become hard to beat then that usually gives you the foundation to go forward. Then you have to be better on the ball, make good decisions and make the right runs.

“We were a bit more cohesive going forward on Tuesday night and we have to take that in to this weekend.”
