George Cooper was ‘something like again’ against Stevenage according to boss David Artell. The Alex boss was pleased with the winger’s contribution during our last gasp win on Saturday and says that the reaction he has seen from the Academy graduate has been spot on after leaving him out of the starting line-up for the recent trip to Coventry.
Artell told crewealex.net: “George played well on Saturday. He was something like again. He wasn’t back to his inventive best like he was in August, but he was good enough. I thought he had a good influence on the game and ran about for the team.
“He is still very young and we are relying on him to be the main man every week. As a young player he is going to have a blip and loss of form in the odd games.
“He is a good lad and he is focussed on the challenge of helping the team. He was something like and so was the team and that is why we came through in the end.”
