On-loan midfield player Conor Grant is hoping to be involved against Stevenage this weekend after being cup-tied against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday evening.
Grant, who has signed with us on loan until January, had previously played for Everton U-23s in the competition against Notts County.
Grant has made three appearances for us this season, the last being as a late substitute for Brad Walker against Coventry City last weekend.
Having overcome a bout of concussion suffered at Grimsby on his Crewe debut, the former Doncaster Rovers, Ipswich and Motherwell loanee is aiming to have an impact at Gresty Road after a frustrating start.
Conor told crewealex.net: “On a personal level, it hasn’t been the start I would have wanted but that is life and that is football.
“It has been frustrating but I know I will get better with the more games I am able to get under my belt. I want to help this team have a successful season and repay the faith the manager has shown in bringing me here on loan.
“All I can do is continue to work hard and take my chances when they come along. You just have to keep going and go again. The games are coming thick and fast and I know I will only improve with more games.”
