Crewe Alexandra boss says a return to his former club will be the perfect place for Chris Porter to get back to scoring goals again. Porter, who has scored six goals this season to lead our current goalscoring charts has now not scored in the last ten games in all competitions.
The experienced striker keeps getting into good positions and has been presented with chances that he hasn’t quite taken .
Crewe boss David Artell told crewealex.net: “Chris is vastly experienced and has been in these type of runs before.
“He is still getting in there and the chances are coming. At the start of the season, he couldn’t miss and now he has missed some. That is the difference. He will be as keen as ever to get back amongst the goals.
“He is a great pro and he has been out there doing extra after training. He is always looking to improve his game and works hard at it. I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before he is scoring again.
“If we decide that he leads the line this weekend then there will be no better place to do that against his former club.”
