Artell: "We Have To Build On Our Win At Yeovil"

12 October 2017

David Artell wants his players to build on Saturday’s deserved 1-0 win over Stevenage at Yeovil this weekend. The Alex boss is hoping that Jordan Bowery’s late winner against Boro will see us turn a little corner again after a disappointing September saw us fall away from the top spots.

Crewe Alexandra will be aiming to win on the road for only the second time this season, having previously won 1-0 at the home of our neighbours Port Vale back in August.

Ahead of our trip to Huish Park, Artell told “The players have to perform, there's no point doing as well as we did on Saturday without backing it up.

“It's three games in a week again, suddenly you win all three and you're right up there. Lose all three and we are back to 'crisis time'.

“Let's take it one game at a time, we went there last season and didn't perform. We have to make sure we play how we can, because if we do we have a great chance. If we don't we'll get turned over.

“We'll go down and do it properly, we have some intense days of training then match-prep on Friday.

“Yeovil will be much like most teams in this league – on their day very good, not on their day as bad as what we were against Carlisle.

The boss added: “We have to make sure we don't give them any encouragement in the way we play.”
