Artell: "We Can Learn From Last Year"

13 October 2017

David Artell says he has studied last season’s 3-0 defeat at Yeovil Town to pick up any information on Darren Way’s philosophy.

Crewe had a day to forget over the Easter period, losing George Ray through injury and having to play midfielder Billy Bingham in central defence.

Ahead of our trip to Huish Park, Artell told us: “Yeovil have the same manager in Darren and a number of their players are still there. They have had some additions like we have but the changes have been slight.

“It is important that we try and learn from what happened last season. We have examined how they scored their goals and tried to look at their philosophy. We are mindful of that, but we also look at how they have performed this season.

“What we will do is concentrate on ourselves. I think we are a much better team for it. If we perform like we can then we have every chance of getting a positive result.

He added: “The lads ran around last week and kept going. The pleasing thing was the reward we got for that. We deserved to win and it didn’t matter if it came in the opening five minutes, 15 minutes, 50 minutes or the final five seconds.”
