Artell: "Up To Us To Seize The Day"

26 October 2017

David Artell is determined for the season not to fizzle out as he strives for more consistency from his squad of players. Crewe Alexandra recently reached a high of comfortably beating then top of the table Notts County but couldn’t follow that up with a positive result against Accrington Stanley a few days later.

It is that inconsistency in results that has prevented Crewe from building on what was a really promising start to the new season. Artell firmly believes that time is on our side and that there is still not a lot between the teams in League Two.

Ahead of our trip to Colchester United this weekend, the boss said: “I don’t think we are far off but there will be a lot of managers saying the same thing.

“I don’t think there is much between the teams in this league and that is why you see the results we see. On the day, anyone can beat anyone.

“I really do think the top places are up for grabs and it is about those sides who seize the most days. I don’t want the season to fizzle out and we have got to do everything we can to make sure that doesn’t happen.

He added: “We have been fine from box-to-box but we have to become ruthless in both boxes like we were against Notts County.”
