Artell Looking For Third Straight Home Win

20 October 2017

David Artell says that he wants his Crewe Alexandra side to build on Tuesday night’s superb 2-0 win over Notts County. The Crewe Alexandra boss says there have been too many false dawns and he wants his side to start showing some real consistency to make up for a disappointing run of results in September.

Ahead of this weekend’s home game against Accrington, Artell told us: “There are 12 or more teams in this league in the same predicament as us. We can go either way and we want to be looking upwards.

“There are a few clubs in that position and we are playing catch up a bit after the results we had in September, when we were on the wrong side of a few 1-0’s. What we want to do is have a real good month.

“We have won two out of three games, won two and played reasonably well at Yeovil without quite having enough in box boxes. If we can get two or three more good results then we will be right up there again.

“When you stretch an unbeaten run to 8,9, 10 games like Exeter, Luton and Notts County do then you become harder to stop. We set a barrier on Tuesday and set a standard.

The boss added: “We have had a few false dawns, so it is up to us to go and get those back-to-back wins against what is a very good and effective Accrington Stanley side.”
