Artell: "Sentiment Won't Come Into It"

27 October 2017

David Artell says that sentiment will not come into his team selection this weekend when it comes to his attacking players. The former Colchester United forward, Chris Porter, will be hoping to get the nod in the hope of ending a lean spell of 10 games without a goal, but with both Jordan Bowery and Chris Dagnall vying for a place as well, the Alex boss has a decision to make.

It was Dagnall sitting out last weekend’s home game with Accrington Stanley and the issue over his wedding ring has now been resolved.

Artell told the club’s official website: “The squad is ready and although we are without the suspended Michael Raynes, we are good to go.

“Sentiment won’t come into my thoughts with Chris. I will select the team that I think will give us the best chance of winning the game. We have all our front players fit, so it is a nice problem to have.”
