David Artell says it was nice to be on the right side of a 1-0 win for once after his spirited ended a run of six straight losses with a well-deserved victory over Stevenage on Saturday. Jordan Bowery scored a 94th minute winner to seal the three points at Gresty Road after Dave Richards saved a first half penalty from Matt Godden.
Artell told the club’s official website: “It was nice to be on the right side of a 1-0 win because we have been on the wrong side of a few recently. I thought it was thoroughly deserved as well because I thought we were the better side over the 90 plus minutes.
“I didn’t think they had a real period of sustained possession where I thought they were going to break us down. They did have chances. They had a penalty, which shouldn’t have been a penalty because it clearly wasn’t in the box. Zoumana never touched him in the box but I don’t want to talk about referees.
“They had the chance at 70, 75 minutes when we were pushing forward looking to score. They kept going and it was pleasing all round.”
