Artell: "My Dad Will Want Rotherham To Win!"

31 October 2017

David Artell says that his own family will be divided when his hometown club Rotherham Town roll into South Cheshire this weekend for our first round FA Cup tie.

Artell, who won back-to-back promotions with the Millers during his early playing days, says that his own dad will be cheering from the away end at Gresty Road!

The Crewe boss said: “The FA Cup is always special. For me, it is the best competition in the world. It always gives you a chance. That is the beauty of it.

“I know my dad will be supporting Rotherham! They say that blood is thicker than water but that doesn’t apply to my dad when it comes to Rotherham. I would love to have a drink with him afterwards and tell him where Rotherham went wrong!

“The family will be split but my dad won’t be in the home end. He is a supporter and I’ve not seen or spoken to him this week. My wife went to see them over the weekend. I was in Colchester working and then we were in at 8.30am on Sunday to go through the DVD and ask questions of where we could have done a lot better.”
